The Process Of Creating Websites That Are Not Irritating

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there are some things that are universally agreed upon. When designing a website there definitely limitations on what is considered attractive and irritating.

A website designer has the distinctive job of creating websites from the customers perspective and at the same time using the industry’s standards. A website creator has to be able to counsel their clients to avoid creating an irritating design.

Today I am going to share with you my top five most irritating website designs of all time. Your list may be longer, but this is my top five.

Annoying Pop Ups:

Many people say that pop ups have actually increase their sales, but I cant imagine how when everyone I know hates them. Pop ups are especially annoying when you are in a hurry.

Loud Flash Presentations:

Flash headers can sometimes bring a website to life and catch a visitors attention. The problem I have with flash presentations are the loud ones that do not give you the option to turn the music off. The customer should always have the choice of whether they want to hear your music or not.

Light Fonts On A Light Background:

Using a light text color with a light background is really hard to read. A customer should not have to work their eyes too hard to read your content.

Font That Are Too Large:

Big fonts are unattractive because they give the feel of being in preschool. No one likes words that jump out of the page. It is a sure fire way to drive away your visitors.

To Much Going On:

A website that is full of content is wonderful, but there are ways to organize your content so that it is uniformed. Placing too many navigation choices in one page seems a little too confusing for my taste. The use of a drop down menu can do wonders in that situation.

Creating quality web designs takes a lot of consideration. You must take into account what your targeted visitors may or may not like. In the end, the best designed websites are the ones that are moderate and incorporate everyone.
